| Russian origin Nuclear Materials & Fuel Assemblies for the World Nuclear Industry. SC Rosatom official plan and IBR™ forecast for the period 2010-2030. (Issued in April 2010) |
In this report IBR has collected information about the most recent official plans of the Russian nuclear industry, including plans for construction of Russian-designed NPPs, uranium mining, extension of Russian SWU capacities, export of EUP for Western-designed reactors and use of secondary sources of uranium. We have also prepared our own forecasts of future development in these key areas of the Russian nuclear industry. Using these forecasts we have numerically analyzed future supply-demand balances in the Russian nuclear fuel cycle industry for both official and our own scenarios of future development for the period 2010-30. The results obtained in this study include distribution of the Russian separative capacity between the various separation tasks (enrichment of natural uranium, tails stripping, etc.) and the various sources of natural uranium and other nuclear materials used to produce enriched uranium. |
